Sunday Update!

I got up early Sunday morning. I was going to get my book work done for the bar early, so I could finish my painting. I went to update my accounting software. I had to turn off my Virus stuff to do this. So my computer will not let me update so I restart and nothing happens. My desktop comes up, but I can't access any of my programs. I try everything!!! Scream in frustration!!!! So I decide I have put up with my computer having its way with me and decide to get a new one. So off I go about a 40 minute drive from home to the nearest well known chain store. I pick the computer I need, wait 2 hours while they get it ready. So I went shopping and got some really nice sweaters, On sale!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! So back to the well know chain store where my computer is still not ready. I wait another 30 minutes and finally its ready. So I head home thinking my whole day has been shot I have just enough time to set it up load up my software and then hit the sack. Well.......I load my accounting software and restore all my information, restart, and yes you guessed it I get the blue screen of death. Not enough memory!!!! I bought a computer with !! WTF!!! So I take a closer look and I have the wrong computer!!! I call the well known chain store and the explain the situation. Then I get to speak to the manager, he offers to take $50.00 off when I come in and do the exchange. I have just enough time to drive 40 minutes to exchange it. Which takes 2 hours!!!! So I get home only install my DSL service and head to be because it has been along day. This morning, I grab my coffee head to my computer and OMG!!!!! The same blue screen of death!!!!! I manage to restore to an early point, but that's about it. I'm just a tad bit upset!!! I will be calling again. Its a brand new computer!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!

Hope you all have a super Monday!! I will be on the phone kicking ass!!!

That's the second chain store computer horror story I've heard this week. I will NEVER buy a Windows machine to begin with. If for some perverted reason I have to, it won't be at a discount joint. I hope you get that ironed out.

OMG what a NIGHTMARE!!!!

I relate...I got this letter from tech support...(after 4 hours on the phone w/Dell to find out it would be a $100 charge for help)....to disable my anti-virus program etc guess what...no go! To sum it up...still can not get the update I need...for XP. (Service pack2) I am so frustrated...and this is new...about 6 months old now.

I feel your pain...
The drive sounds like an ordeal within itself....Good luck...hope you can get it fixed this time...for good.

The only way to get a really good computer is to build it yourself. I bought one off the shelf PC 10 years ago (my very first one) and have built all my own ever since.

And as far as Macs go, don't do it, they're switching over to IBM processor architecture themselves in the future. I'm serious!

If it's made by HP demand your money back and get a Dell or a Gateway, they build much better machines.

Hope ya get it squared away!
