Family Dinner

Tuesday nights my family gets together and has dinner. My mother decided we should do this after my dad passed away. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we take turns cooking. I was going to pass on dinner last night but decided it was what I needed to do. So I cooked Scampi for my family! My mother and I even broke out the Miluakee's best and shared some of that nasty stuff. My mom and I seldom drink, so one was enough for us.

Which brings me to another point. Some people assume that just because I own a bar, I must be a heavy drinker. This makes me mad, coming from a family of alcoholic's I pride myself that I did not fall into this trap. Why do people do that?

So tonight I will start back into my exercise routine. I have decided to fight my depression instead of letting it take me down.

Have a super Hump Day!!

People probably assume because so many bar owners ARE heavy drinkers. Here is wisconsin they can even drink behind the bar, so it's no secret that they are drunk-tastic!

Glad you broke the cycle though. Good for you!

Nice to do the dinner thing like that. You won't regret it. I know plenty of bar owners who don't drink. Those who assume you do are closet drunks, I bet.

Hey, I like heavy metal so obviously I like Satan, drink baby's blood & am the cause of much evil ... or so I have been told many a time ... mostly when I had the devil long hair.

People are assholes. That's why.

I'm glad, Jillian. Your dad would be too. *HUGS* You'll get through this and sticking with those who love you is the way to do it.

I know several bar owners and bar tenders who are non-drinkers. You are right - it comes as a surprise to many people, or they don't believe it.

Your dinner sounded delicious, glad you went ahead on that. My adult life was always around big drinkers...I could keep up but never cared for alcohol like other weaknesses. Had many bartender/owner friends that did not drink...but many do think that. It is more of a challenge if ones parents are alcoholics...I was fortunate there...neither of mine were or are.

Good for you on the exercise....so many healthy benefits that result in the outcome....including mentally. Pulling for you here!! (smiling)
