What a week!

To say I have had the week from hell is an understatement. I want to thank all of you who have commented on my last post. Your words have helped for through a very difficult time. Today will probably be the hardest, as the funeral is today. My fathers death was sudden and unexpected. He had been in remission from cancer for 1 1/2 years and I am thankful for every day. He passed very peacefully in the home he was born in. My father always had a knack for making holidays an unforgettable event so I guess to die on News Years Eve and my birthday to boot was not out of the ordinary. It was just his way. I know right now I should be getting ready, but I can't. It's so hard to say good by.

Thanks to all of you, and may your weekend be a great one!

The most important thing is that you have precious memories of him. He made the holidays better, and sometimes that's rare---you're fortunate to have had such a great father.

Hang in there---and I hope that you're doing okay.

I saw your comment on Romey's site and learned of the death of your father and while I've never been to your site before I felt I had to come and give you my condolences. I lost my father 4 and half years ago, unexpectedly. Getting through it was the most difficult thing I have ever had to do. Your days and weeks to come will be filled with many emotions, ones that no one else in the world will understand, but I promise things will somehow come back in order.... not normal, but different and in order. I am so sorry for your loss and I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
